Version 2.1.7 of iText is the last version to be released under the LPGL license. Since it is quite full-featured, and the license terms make it easier to use than the later iText versions, it may still have value to some users. This is also the version described in the 1st edition of “iText in Action”, which can still be found on Amazon.

Note that I’m not the author of this; Bruno Lowagie is. I merely noticed that this version can be hard to find online, so I thought I’d make it available here. I don’t intend to develop it any further. The Files section contains the library jar file, the javadocs, and a source code archive.
