I recommend that you find some type of fan boosting application for your computer if your model is not supported as it boosts the performance a great deal.

If you use this you will need to set up Steam not to start at boot. You can do this via Steam Settings.

To open Steam just plug in your XBox 360 controller. This opens it to Big Picture Mode.
